HUNTSVILLE, Alabama - The Madison County Health Department will offer free prostate cancer screenings Tuesday at its nnex at 405 Max Luther Drive.
The screenings will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. They are provided by Urology Centers of Alabama and the health department.
No appointment is needed. For more information, call 256-533-8679.
According to the National Cancer Institute and U. S. National Institutes of Health, one in six men are diagnosed with prostate cancer, and it is the second most common cancer among men in the nation. Only skin cancer is more common. Alabama ranks second in the nation for prostate cancer death rates.
An estimated 238,590 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer this year.
